Chief Human Capital Officer: Lauren Wright

Ms. Wright serves as the Assistant Director for Management and Operations (MOD) and Chief Human Capital Officer for the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). OMB is the largest organization in the Executive Office of the President (EOP) and is responsible for assisting the President in overseeing the activities of the Federal Government. She is responsible for overseeing and managing day to day operations of OMB and for ensuring that the agency has state of the art technology, adequate financial resources and highly qualified people to successfully operate in an extremely fast paced, high stress environment.
Ms. Wright began her Federal career in 1985 as a Clerk Typist with the United States Air Force and quickly moved into the field of Human Resources. She worked in four different agencies, primarily as a Human Resources professional, and was promoted to the Senior Executive Service (SES) in 2005. She has a reputation as a strong, fair and firm leader, an astute and innovative manager, and a team player. Ms. Wright has always stepped forward for tough assignments or to work difficult issues. Her career has included teaching basic personnel management to new manager/supervisors, negotiating with labor unions, and volunteering to deploy to South Florida after Hurricane Andrew to provide relocation services to Air Force civilians who lost their jobs and homes.
Ms. Wright was the recipient of the Meritorious Rank Award in 2009 and was spotlighted as one of OMB’s top women executives in the November 2005 edition of “Government Leader Magazine”. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Management from Park University, Parkville, Missouri.
